Western Montana Small Business Owners Endorse Zinke

Zinke hosts small business roundtable, hears challenges and opportunities, offers solutions

(BOZEMAN, MT) – Today, at Lockhorn Hard Cider in Downtown Bozeman, former Congressman and Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke hosted a small business roundtable where he heard the opportunities and challenges faced by small business owners and industry leaders from Western Montana. Additionally, local business owners and the Montana Federation of Independent Businesses gave their full endorsement to Zinke for Montana’s new western congressional district. Small businesses account for more than 99% of all businesses in Montana and employ almost 250,000 people, accounting for 67% of the Montana workforce.

Over the summer, Zinke assembled an advisory board of Montana small business owners to inform and advise him on emerging issues affecting their industries. The advisory board members are Heather Gray (Midway Rentals, Kalispell), Mark Hufstetler (Northern Plastics, Kalispell), Chris Noble (Noble Excavating, Libby), Trish Nguyen (M&S Meals, Polson), Kim Chambers (Missoula), Wayne Rusk (Hamilton), Cindy Dolan (Butte), Keith and Holly Brown (Brown Real Estate, Butte), Pete Novich (Novich Insurance – Dillon), Troy Miller (Bozeman), Eugene Graf (EG Construction, Bozeman).

“Everywhere I go, from Browning to Bozeman, I hear the same thing: Montana is doing great DESPITE the nonsense coming out of Washington. Under the Biden-Pelosi agenda, inflation has reached 40-year highs, interest rates and materials costs are skyrocketing daily, labor shortages are endless, and supply chain disruptions are leaving us hanging. Electing Democrats like Monica Tranel who will vote in lock step to continue the insanity is crazy,” said Zinke. “Tranel is on the record supporting the Biden and Pelosi agenda on higher taxes, $133 trillion in more spending, and shutting down affordable American oil and gas – all of these policies are the key drivers of inflation and interest rates. We can do a lot better.  I’m honored to have the support and endorsement of Montana’s small business community and look forward to keeping them engaged and at the table when elected to Congress once again.”

Zinke discussed his plan to address inflation and the economy which includes:

  • Cutting government spending, opposing Biden’s radical Green New Deal, Medicare for All, and other trillion-dollar policies
  • Cutting taxes, opposing Biden’s plans for additional taxes on Montana small businesses
  • Making America energy independent again and increasing American oil and gas production
  • Mining, harvesting and making in America
  • Lowering the cost of capital and driving down interest rates

Quote from Ronda Wiggers, NFIB Montana State Director:

“As former United States Secretary of the Interior, former U.S. representative, and former member of the Montana state Senate, Ryan Zinke is exceptionally qualified to represent Montana’s small businesses in the U.S. Congress. As Secretary of Interior, he implemented a pro-growth and pro-small business agenda, helping small farmers and ranchers with policies such as reducing unnecessary federal land protections. During his tenure in Congress, he earned a 100% NFIB voting record and was a strong advocate for lower taxes and limited federal government regulations. Montana’s small businesses will benefit with Ryan Zinke back in Congress and we have no doubt he will continue to be a reliable voice for our members.”

Quote from Susan Lake, Owner of Lake Seeds and Northwest MT Farm Bureau member:

“Ryan Zinke is a friend to Montana’s farmers and ranchers. As both Montana’s Congressman and Secretary of the Interior, Ryan displayed a deep understanding of the agriculture and resource issues facing out industries and he made himself accessible to listen to our concerns. Ryan was dedicated to the management of our public lands and fought to protect America’s natural resources and cultural heritage, and we give him our full endorsement.”
